Every Picture“Close your eyes, and only thirty per cent remains” – in other words, unless you were born blind, you take in seventy per cent of the world around you through your eyes.ExpositionHow I calibrate the correct exposure time in the following way in the contact print method
About me
Peter Peti

I was born on 22 October 1951 in Budapest. I have 5 children and 5 grandchildren. I have a degree in telecommunications engineering. I worked at Malév for 20 years.

I was already friends with photography as a teenager, but since I had no money for a laboratory, my enthusiasm passed. The digital world brought me back to photography. I started taking photographs intensively in the mid-nineties. I acquired and developed my professional knowledge through self-training and the trainings of the PhaseOne brand. My pictures were characterised by a documentary approach.

At the beginning of the 2000s, I founded the cultural portal Terasz.hu, so theatre, ballet, contemporary dance and the documentation of cultural life were at the centre of my work. Unfortunately, Terasz.hu is no longer available.

Since 2013, as an employee of TRIPONT Kft., the digitalisation of cultural heritage has been the focus of my work. Articles about my work can be found on the website www.digitalizalas.eu. The high-resolution PhaseOne camera offered me the opportunity to combine the unsurpassably beautiful skyline of Budapest into large-scale panoramic images. At the request of a company, I printed the Danube bank in Pest as a series of 15-metre panoramic images.

Since 2015, as an active member of the ARTBÁZIS and FOTÓFALU communities, my attention has turned to archaic processes. Nowadays, as a freelancer, the discovery of archaic, manual image-making processes has come to the fore. In my laboratory, I experiment with cyanotype, VanDyke, salt paper and gum oil processes to create unique, extra-large (up to 80×120 cm) enlargements by hand.
